Recipe ingredients:
- 14 oz (400 g) sweetened shredded coconut (flakes)
- 28 oz (790 g) sweetened condensed milk (2 cans)
- 10.5 oz (300 g) heavy cream (about 1 ΒΌ cups)
- 14 fl oz (400 ml / 1 β cups) coconut milk
- 1 tablespoon butter or margarine
- 12 oz (350 g) semi-sweet chocolate
Instructions:
Start by gathering all the ingredients. In a large saucepan, add the shredded coconut, sweetened condensed milk, coconut milk, and butter.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly for about 10 minutes, until the mixture thickens and begins to pull away from the bottom of the pan.
Transfer the creamy coconut mixture to a glass dish and set aside.
Next, melt the chocolate in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each until smooth.
Mix the melted chocolate with the heavy cream until you get a silky ganache.
Spread the chocolate cream evenly over the coconut base and decorate with shredded coconut, grated chocolate, or even extra chocolate ganache if you like.
Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until firm, then slice and serve this indulgent creamy dessert.
