- 1 ¾ cups of powdered milk (250 g).
- 2 cups of milk (16 fl oz) – (500 ml)
- 3 tablespoons of cornstarch.
- 1 can of sweetened condensed milk (14 oz).
- 1 carton of heavy cream (8 oz).
- 1 cup of chopped strawberries (approximately 6 oz).
- Ladyfinger cookies (as needed).
Instructions:
Prepare the Cream:
First, in a saucepan with the heat off, mix the condensed milk, cornstarch, and milk, stirring until the cornstarch is completely dissolved.
Next, add the powdered milk and stir until the mixture is smooth.
Then, turn on the heat to medium and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens into a smooth and creamy texture.
After that, remove it from the heat and let it cool completely before proceeding.
Combine the Strawberries:
Start by chopping the strawberries into small pieces.
Once the cream is fully cooled, gently fold in the chopped strawberries to incorporate them evenly.
Assemble the Pavé:
In a medium glass dish, begin by spreading a generous layer of cream on the bottom.
Then, quickly dip the ladyfinger cookies in milk and create a layer over the cream.
Continue alternating layers of cream and cookies until all the ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of cream.
Finishing Touch:
Finally, refrigerate for at least 2 hours to firm up and chill thoroughly.
To finish, decorate as desired with whipped cream, chocolate shavings, or whole strawberries.
