Recipe ingredients:
- 2 cups (500 ml / 17 fl oz) whole milk
- 7 oz (200 g) heavy cream (about ¾ cup)
- 28 oz (790 g) sweetened condensed milk (2 cans)
- 1 cup powdered milk
- 4 egg yolks, strained
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
For the Chocolate Ganache:
- 7 oz (200 g) milk chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate
- 3.5 oz (100 g) heavy cream (about ⅓ cup + 1 tbsp)
Instructions:
In a saucepan, dissolve the powdered milk into the sweetened condensed milk. Add the egg yolks, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and butter, mixing well to combine.
Pour in the whole milk and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture begins to bubble lightly around the edges of the pan.
Remove from heat, let it cool slightly, then transfer the cream into a greased mold. Place in the freezer for about 6 hours, or until completely firm.
For the chocolate ganache, melt the chocolate in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring each time until smooth. Add the heavy cream and mix until creamy and glossy. Let it cool to room temperature.
Finally, unmold the pudding, pour the chocolate ganache over the top, and serve chilled.
