Recipe ingredients:
- 2 eggs
- ½ large onion, chopped (about 75 g / 2.6 oz)
- ½ cup vegetable oil (120 ml / 4 fl oz)
- ½ cup milk (120 ml / 4 fl oz)
- 10 g (0.35 oz) dry yeast for bread
- 3 cups all-purpose flour/wheat flour (360 g / 12.7 oz)
- 1 teaspoon salt (5 g / 0.18 oz)
- 2 tablespoons sugar (25 g / 0.9 oz)
- 1 egg yolk mixed with 1 tablespoon of milk for brushing
- Oregano to taste (Optional)
Instructions:
In a blender, combine the eggs, chopped onion, oil, sugar, and milk. Blend until the mixture is smooth and liquid.
In a large bowl, mix the flour, yeast, and salt. Pour the blender mixture over the dry ingredients and stir until it comes together.
Knead the dough with your hands until it’s smooth and no longer sticky. Let it rest in a warm place for 1 hour, covered with a cloth.
Grease a baking pan with butter. Shape the dough into small rolls and place them on the pan, leaving space between each one.
Brush each roll with the egg yolk and milk mixture, then sprinkle with oregano to taste.
Let the rolls rise in the pan for another 20 minutes. Then bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (390°F) for about 30 minutes, or until golden brown.
