Recipe ingredients:
- 1 cup (120g / 4.2 oz) of all-purpose flour/wheat flour
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon (14g / 0.5 oz) of butter
- ½ cup (120ml / 4 oz) of milk
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon (5g / 0.18 oz) of baking powder
Filling Suggestions (to taste):
- Shredded chicken
- Cream cheese or soft requeijão
- Sliced cheese
- (You may also use ham, vegetables, or your favorite ingredients)
Instructions:
Prepare the batter:
In a bowl, mix the egg, milk, and melted butter until well blended. Then add the flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir until you have a smooth, thick batter.
Grease a non-stick skillet, then pour in half the batter and spread it evenly with a spatula.
Add the filling:
Place your preferred fillings (like shredded chicken, cream cheese, and sliced cheese) on top of the batter. Then cover with the remaining batter, spreading it to seal the filling.
Cover the skillet with a lid and cook on low heat for 6 to 7 minutes, or until golden brown on the bottom.
Carefully flip the sandwich and cook the other side until golden and cooked through.
Turn off the heat, decorate if you wish, and serve warm!
