How to Make Soft Homemade Bread

Recipe Ingredients:
- 1 cup milk (240 ml / ~8 fl oz)
- 2 tablespoons sugar (25 g / ~0.9 oz)
- 2 cups all-purpose flour (240 g / ~8.5 oz)
- 1 tablespoon baking powder (12 g / ~0.42 oz)
- ½ teaspoon salt (≈3 g)
- 2 tablespoons melted butter or olive oil (28 g butter or 30 ml / 1 fl oz oil)
Instructions:
First, preheat the oven to 375 °F (190 °C). Right after, grease a standard loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
Next, in a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. After that, add the milk and melted butter.
Then, stir gently until a sticky dough forms, making sure not to overmix, so the bread stays tender. Afterwards, spoon the dough into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
Finally, bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the top is golden, and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
In the end, let the loaf cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
To finish, transfer it to a rack, allow it to cool slightly, slice, and serve warm or toasted.
