Recipe ingredients:
Cake Ingredients:
- 3 cups all-purpose flour/wheat flour
- 1 cup milk
- 3 tablespoons melted butter
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 3 eggs
Topping:
- 395 g (13.9 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 200 g (7 oz) heavy cream
- Juice and zest of 1 lime
Instructions:
In a large bowl, add all ingredients except the flour and baking powder. Mix well using a hand mixer or kitchen wire whisk.
Gradually add in the flour and continue mixing until the batter becomes smooth and lump-free.
Then, gently fold in the baking powder. Pour the batter into a greased cake pan and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F).
Bake for about 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Remove from the oven and let cool.
To Make the Topping:
In a separate bowl, mix the sweetened condensed milk, cream, and lime juice and zest until fully combined.
Once the cake has cooled, spread the lime topping evenly over the top. For a decorative touch, sprinkle with a bit of extra lime zest before serving.
