How to Make Healthy and Nutritious Snack

A light, healthy breakfast is a great way to start the day. This recipe is quick, easy, and can be tailored to your taste. You don’t need cooking classes or costly meal delivery services to prepare something delicious at home. With a bit of planning and our detailed meal prep guide, you can create amazing dishes with confidence and ease.

Recipe Ingredients:

  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk (4 fl oz / 120ml)
  • 1 tablespoon oil (0.5 fl oz / 15ml)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (2.25 oz / 65g)
  • 1/2 tablespoon baking powder (0.2 oz / 6g)
  • Butter or margarine for greasing
  • A pinch of salt
  • Ham and mozzarella cheese (or filling of your choice)

Instructions:

Preparing the Batter:

First, in a mixing bowl, crack one egg and lightly beat it with a fork or whisk.
Then, add 1/2 cup of milk and 1 tablespoon of oil. Stir well until combined.
Next, add 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour and a pinch of salt. Mix until the batter is smooth and lump-free.
Lastly, gently fold in 1/2 tablespoon of baking powder, being careful not to overmix.

Preparing the Sandwich Maker:

Now, turn on the sandwich maker and let it preheat for a few minutes.
After that, turn it off and lightly grease the plates with butter or margarine to prevent sticking.

Assembling the Sandwich:

Afterward, pour half of the batter onto the greased sandwich maker base.
Next, add a layer of ham and mozzarella cheese (or your preferred filling, such as shredded chicken or cooked ground beef).
Then, cover with the remaining batter, spreading it carefully to seal the filling inside.

Cooking the Sandwich:

Finally, close the sandwich maker and turn it back on.
Let it cook until the sandwich is golden and crispy on both sides.

Tips and Variations:
  • Different Fillings: Try using shredded chicken, seasoned ground beef, or even sautéed vegetables.
  • No Sandwich Maker? No worries! You can also make this recipe in a non-stick skillet by following the same steps.
  • Flavor Boost: Add dried herbs like oregano or basil to the batter for extra flavor.
