Recipe Ingredients:

  • 1 ⅓ cups of water (330 ml)
  • 2 teaspoons of salt (10 grams)
  • 4 cups of all-purpose flour (500 grams)
  • 1 ½ teaspoons of dry yeast or 1 tablespoon of fresh yeast (5 grams or 15 grams, respectively)
  • Oil (for greasing the skillet)

Instructions:

First, in a large bowl, add the flour and make a small well in the center.

If you’re using fresh yeast, dissolve it completely in the water. If using dry yeast, simply mix it directly into the water. Then, carefully pour this mixture into the center of the flour.

Next, add the salt and mix all the ingredients until they are well combined and form a smooth dough.

After that, transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead it for about 10 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic.

Then, shape the dough into a ball and let it rest in a glass dish, covered with a clean, damp cloth, in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.

Once rested, divide the dough into portions according to your desired bread size.

Next, preheat a skillet over medium-low heat and lightly grease it with oil. Take one portion of dough, roll it out into a round shape (or any shape you prefer), and place it in the hot skillet.

Finally, cook the bread for about 5 to 7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and fully cooked. If you want, cover the skillet to ensure more even cooking.

To finish, repeat the process with the remaining dough portions. This recipe is perfect for those who don’t have a conventional oven but still want to enjoy warm, homemade bread.
