How to Make Homemade Popsicle with Chocolate Shell

Looking for a creamy, tasty, and easy-to-make popsicle? This recipe is perfect! I tried it, and it turned out even better than the ones at the ice cream shop. It’s budget-friendly, and you can customize the flavors your way. You don’t need cooking classes or costly meal delivery services to prepare something delicious at home. With a bit of planning and our detailed meal prep guide, you can create amazing dishes with confidence and ease.

Recipe Ingredients:

For the Popsicle:

  • 1 1/4 cups cold milk (10 fl oz / 300ml)
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla pudding mix
  • Sweetened condensed milk to taste (about 10.5 oz / 300g)
  • 1 cup heavy cream or table cream (7 oz / 200g)

For the Chocolate Shell:

  • 10.5 oz milk chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate (300g)

Instructions:

Popsicle:
First, in a saucepan, combine the milk, egg yolks, and pudding mix. Then, cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and starts to boil. After that, turn off the heat and let it cool completely.

Next, place the cooled mixture in a blender, add the heavy cream and sweetened condensed milk, and blend until smooth.

Then, pour the mixture into popsicle molds or disposable cups. Finally, place in the freezer until fully frozen.

Chocolate Shell Coating:
First, chop the chocolate into small pieces. Then, melt it using a double boiler or in the microwave.

After that, remove the popsicles from the freezer and carefully dip each one into the melted chocolate. Immediately after, allow the excess chocolate to drip off.

Lastly, place the popsicles on a board or return them to the silicone mold. To finish, freeze them again until the chocolate shell hardens.

Tips:

  • The pudding mix makes the popsicles creamier.
  • If you prefer, you can replace sweetened condensed milk with sugar.
  • You can use any type of mold—silicone molds or disposable cups both work well.
  • If you don’t have popsicle molds, use toothpicks to secure the sticks in the cups.
