Recipe Ingredients:
- 395 grams (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- ½ cup (90 grams/3.2 oz) sugar
- 2 tablespoons (25 grams/0.9 oz) butter
Instructions:
In a thick-bottomed pan, add the sugar and heat over medium, stirring occasionally, until the sugar melts completely. Once melted, turn off the heat.
Add the butter and stir until it melts. Then, return the pan to medium heat and add the sweetened condensed milk gradually.
Stir constantly after each addition until the mixture becomes creamy, then lower the heat. Continue until all the sweetened condensed milk is added.
Stir continuously over low heat until the mixture becomes slightly creamy and glossy. For a softer texture, remove it from the heat earlier; for a firmer consistency, cook a little longer.
Finally, turn off the heat and place the pan in a tray of ice water to cool it down, stirring occasionally.
