- 2 egg yolks
- 1 2/3 cups (400 ml) of milk
- 3 tablespoons (about 1.4 oz) of sugar – (40g)
- 1 tablespoon (about 0.5 oz) of cornstarch – (15g)
- Zest of 1 lemon
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla sugar
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 1/2 cup (about 3.5 oz) of sweetened condensed milk – (100g)
- For decoration: cinnamon, cocoa powder, or chocolate
Instructions:
First, in a saucepan, heat the milk until it boils. Add the lemon zest and vanilla sugar, stirring well.
Next, in a separate bowl, combine the egg yolks, sugar, and cornstarch until you have a uniform mixture.
Then, slowly pour half of the hot milk into the egg mixture, stirring constantly to prevent the eggs from cooking.
After that, add this mixture back into the saucepan with the remaining hot milk. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until the cream thickens.
Once thickened, remove from heat and let it cool. In another bowl, mix the lemon juice with the sweetened condensed milk, whisking until smooth and creamy.
Finally, incorporate this mixture into the cream and stir well.
Finish by decorating the dessert with cinnamon, cocoa, or chocolate shavings, to taste.
Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
