Nothing beats a homemade cake with afternoon coffee! The 5-Cup Cake is simple, budget-friendly, and delicious, combining convenience and flavor. See below the list of all ingredients and required quantities. And then, a very complete preparation method with details of the recipe.
Recipe Ingredients:
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup of milk
- 1 cup of oil
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 cup of cornmeal
- 1 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon of baking powder
For the Topping:
- Sweetened condensed milk to taste
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon (optional)
Instructions:
First, preheat the oven to 356 °F (180 °C) and grease a glass baking dish (approximately 11 x 7 x 2 inches) with butter and flour.
Then, in a blender, add the eggs, milk, oil, and sugar. Blend well until you get a smooth mixture.
Next, transfer the mixture to a bowl and gradually add the sifted all-purpose flour and cornmeal, alternating between them. After that, gently mix in the baking powder until fully incorporated.
Afterward, pour the batter into the prepared glass baking dish and bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until golden brown and firm to the touch.
Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and, while still warm, poke small holes in the surface. Then, drizzle condensed milk over it, allowing it to soak into the cake.
If desired, mix sugar with cinnamon and sprinkle over the cake, creating a delicious crust.
Lastly, return it to the oven for 5 more minutes to caramelize the topping. Finally, remove it and let it cool before serving.
