How to Make Homemade Milk Cookies

Ninho Milk Cookies are perfect for those who love a sweet cookie that melts in your mouth. With few ingredients, they’re easy to make and ideal for coffee or tea. See below the list of all ingredients and required quantities. And then, a very complete preparation method with details of the recipe.

Recipe Ingredients:

  • 100 grams cold butter or margarine (3.5 oz)
  • 100 ml whole milk (3.4 fl oz) (approximately)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (without baking powder)
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • 1 cup powdered milk (such as Ninho) + extra for dusting
  • A pinch of salt

Note: The measuring cup used is 240 ml (8.1 fl oz).

Instructions:

First, in a bowl, add: 1 cup of all-purpose flour (unsifted), 1 cup of powdered milk, ½ cup of cornstarch, ½ cup of sugar, and a pinch of salt.
Mix these dry ingredients well with a spatula.

Next, add 100 g of cold butter or margarine and mix and knead with the tips of your fingers until you get a moist crumbly mixture.

Then, gradually add the whole milk, always mixing until the dough reaches the right consistency, which is when it becomes smooth and uniform. You might not need all the milk, so it’s important to add it little by little, only until the dough reaches the correct texture.

Afterward, take a portion of the dough and shape it into a ball with your hands, then place it in a spacious, greased, and floured glass baking dish. Repeat the process until all the balls are shaped.

Then, bake in a preheated oven at 356 °F (180 °C) for about 10 to 15 minutes. The cookies will turn white on top and golden brown on the bottom.

Finally, remove from the oven, let them cool slightly, put powdered milk in a clean plastic bag, add a few cookies, and shake well. Do this with all the cookies.

Lastly, serve and enjoy your wonderful Ninho milk cookies
