How to Make Homemade sweets without an oven

Looking for a quick and irresistible dessert? With simple ingredients and no need for an oven, this crunchy treat will win everyone over. See below the list of all ingredients and required quantities. And then, a very complete preparation method with details of the recipe.

Recipe Ingredients:

  • 2 ½ cups of water – (600 ml)
  • 2 ½ cups of all-purpose flour – (300 g)
  • 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar
  • ½ cup of cornstarch (like Maizena)
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla sugar or vanilla extract
  • Vegetable oil for frying

For the syrup:

  • 1 ¼ cups of water – (300 ml)
  • 2 ¼ cups of sugar – (450 g)
  • 2 slices of lemon

Instructions:

To begin, prepare the syrup. In a saucepan, combine 1 1/4 cups of water, 2 1/4 cups of sugar, and two lemon slices. Let it boil for about 8 minutes. After this time, remove the lemon slices and pour the liquid into a glass dish. Set aside.

For the dough, pour 2 1/2 cups of water into a saucepan and add 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil along with the sugar. Stir well until the sugar is completely dissolved.

Next, add the sifted all-purpose flour and the vanilla sugar, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon to prevent lumps.

Tip: If you prefer to use vanilla extract, add it to the water at the beginning of the preparation.

Once the dough is firm, smooth, and begins to pull away from the sides of the pan, transfer it to a clean surface, such as a table or countertop. Knead it with your hands for a few minutes until it becomes completely uniform.

Place the dough into a piping bag with a wide tip, or, if preferred, use a plastic bag with one corner cut off. Shape the dough into rolls about 1 to 1.2 inches long.

Heat vegetable oil in a saucepan and fry the rolls until they turn golden brown. Remove them from the oil and immediately submerge them in the reserved syrup, leaving them in for about 1 minute.
