How to Make Soft 1-Kilo Bread
If you love homemade bread, you’ll love this simple and delicious recipe! I learned it from my grandma and have shared it with friends – it’s so easy, you’ll want to make it all the time. With just a few ingredients, you’ll get a soft, airy, and wonderfully fragrant bread. See below the list of all ingredients and required quantities. And then, a very complete preparation method with details of the recipe.
First, place the water in a bowl and add the sugar and dry yeast, stirring until fully dissolved.
Next, add 2 ½ tablespoons of vegetable oil, the salt, and half of the sifted flour. Mix well until you achieve a liquid and smooth dough.
Then, sift the remaining flour, mix it in, and knead with your hands until the dough is smooth and firm.
Cover the dough with plastic wrap or a clean cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
After that, add the remaining vegetable oil (1 ½ tablespoons) and incorporate it into the dough using your fingertips. Cover it again with plastic wrap and let it rest for another 30 minutes.
Afterward, press the dough with your fingertips to remove any excess air. Knead the dough until it is smooth and uniform, shaping it into a ball.
Then, turn a glass bowl upside down over the dough and let it rest for 15 minutes. Remove the bowl, sprinkle some flour over the dough, and knead it for a few more minutes.
Next, roll out the dough with a rolling pin and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a glass baking dish, cover it with a clean cloth, and let it rise for 40 minutes.
Finally, make a horizontal cut on the surface of the bread and bake it in a preheated oven at 410°F (210°C) for 20 minutes. After that, reduce the temperature to 356°F (180°C) and bake for another 20 minutes.
Finishing up, let the bread cool slightly before slicing and serving.
