How to Make Sponge Cake with Only 5 Ingredients

A simple and practical recipe, made with just a few ingredients and very easy to prepare. See below the list of all ingredients and required quantities. And then, a very complete preparation method with details of the recipe.

Recipe Ingredients:

6 eggs
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of sifted wheat flour
A pinch of salt
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Note: To ensure that your sponge cake is light and fluffy, make sure to beat the eggs and sugar very well until the mixture is well aerated.

Instructions:

We’ll start by preheating the oven to 365 °F (180 °C) and greasing a 25 cm diameter pan.

Then, using a large bowl, beat the eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract until you get a creamy and light mixture.

Next, carefully fold the sifted flour into the egg and sugar mixture, incorporating it gently with upward movements to avoid losing the aeration.

After that, we’ll pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for approximately 25–30 minutes, or until the sponge cake is golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Finally, we can remove it from the oven and let it cool completely before removing from the pan and using it in your favorite pies or cakes.
